UNIX/Source Code

The source code should compile on most Unix machines.

Download gzip-ed tar Source code [2482K] + gzip-ed tar Sample Data [583K]

The source code to Survex is available as a gzip-ed tar file. If you don't have gzip, you can get it from gzip.org (including precompiled versions for many platforms including DOS and Microsoft Windows).

For DOS and Microsoft Windows, you'll also need a version of tar. Alternatively WinZip can be used (note: WinZip is shareware).

Note that since the source code is primarily for use on Unix, the files in the archive have Unix end-of-lines.

NB: currently we build the DOS and Win32 versions on Linux using a cross-compiler. You'll have to fiddle with the makefiles to build natively - contact us if this is a problem.
